Samsung has just announced that it will officially release Android 11-based One UI 3.1 software to older devices. Initially exclusive to the S21 series, this broader release includes the Galaxy S20, S10, Note10, Note20 series, Z Fold2 and Z Flip series, as well as some A series phones. Moreover, this also means that some features of the Galaxy S21 are carried over. with it to older devices, and deployment begins. tonight

Single Take is usually a little less fun than it sounds, but it’s cool.

Among the features of new phones that will appear in older devices are – Enhanced Single Take Mode (sometimes called Single Take 2.0) allowing you to select the kind of shot you want to use after recording a short segment. This means that you can not only choose the best shot from the set, but even choose video effects. The new version can pull more frames and record slow-motion video, and it also allows you to explicitly filter the types of pictures you want to take. There is also object eraser functionwhich allows you to select areas to remove from a photo, as well as multi-microphone recording for audio sources on the device and Bluetooth for video.

With fewer camera related settings, One UI 3.1 powers blockchain Private sharing function which allows you to send files, such as documents, photos or videos, with time-limited access, and even revoke this access sooner. Also included is a safety shield for eye comfort that dynamically adjusts blue light based on the time of day. Smart home controls integrated into quick settings are also available in OneUI 3.1 and may appear with this update. Other One UI 3.1 features on the Galaxy S21 include Duo’s dialer integration and chic new video calling effects for multiple apps, as well as finer tweaks.

Several Samsung devices have already received the One UI 3.1 update. The Galaxy Tab S7 and S7 + jumped right away when they took Android 11, and the hugely popular Galaxy S20 FE also received the One UI 3.1 update, though it was later removed after reports of issues.

Despite Samsung’s top bill for the S20, Note20 and foldable phones in the announcement, the full text includes a footnote claiming the S10 and Note10 series will also receive the update alongside several A-series devices including the A71, A70, A51 and A50. We are not sure if this exclusion from the internal list means some of the named features that will not be available on these other devices or not.

Samsung informs us that this update will begin rolling out tonight in select regions. We don’t know if this includes the US or which devices will get it in the first place. But there will be an update soon, barring any delays from the carrier and my Z Flip is ready.
