Galaxy S8 will no longer receive updates

Back in 2017, the Galaxy S8 took a big step in the evolution of Samsung’s flagship S line by removing the Home button and rekindling a war on the display bezels. Four years later, it’s still a great looking phone, but sadly it has come to an end when it comes to updates – Samsung has dropped software support for both the S8 and S8 +.

Last year, the Galaxy S8 stopped receiving monthly security updates, and from now on, they will only receive them quarterly. As noted WCCFTECH, the device is removed from the list supported devices together. The S8 Active still receives quarterly updates, and the S8 Lite will continue to receive them twice a year for a little longer as they were released later than the regular models.

If you’re still using the Galaxy S8 as your primary phone, now is the time to move on to something else. Security updates are critical to keep you safe and safe from online threats, especially if you are using your device for online shopping or banking.

The question remains what to do next. Personally, I would go with the latest Samsung Galaxy S21 lineup. The S21 and S21 + are a great upgrade to the S8. One UI 3.1 may have received many new features and improvements over the One UI 1.0 on the S8, but everything is where it should be and you will feel right at home. If you’re looking for something a little more advanced, the S21 Ultra is also a great choice. Taking the best of younger siblings, dialing them in to eleven, while fixing most of the issues found on last year’s model. These phones are also often available at a discounted price, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to get an upgrade deal.

First of all, the S21 will be easier to live with for four years than the S8. Select Galaxy devices from 2019 now have a four-year warranty. normal security updates that make them better durable phones.
