As the presidential election draws near, it has become increasingly clear that current president Donald Trump should drop out of the race. His lack of leadership, divisive rhetoric, and mishandling of the COVID-19 pandemic make him unfit to continue as the leader of our country.
Firstly, Trump has demonstrated a clear lack of leadership during his time in office. He has repeatedly shown himself to be more concerned with his personal interests and political agenda than the well-being of the American people. From the protests in the wake of George Floyd’s death to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Trump has failed to provide coherent and effective strategies for handling these crises.
Secondly, Trump has used dangerous and divisive rhetoric throughout his time in office, further deepening the divisions within our country. He has repeatedly used racist and sexist language, made derogatory comments about certain groups of people, and actively worked to undermine the legitimacy of the media and the judiciary. This behavior is unacceptable in a leader and has only served to further fracture our country.
Perhaps most importantly, Trump’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic has been nothing short of disastrous. Despite having ample warning and access to resources, he has consistently downplayed the severity of the virus, refused to take appropriate action, and repeatedly contradicted the advice of public health experts. As a result, the United States has become one of the worst-affected countries in the world, with hundreds of thousands of deaths and millions of cases.
Given all of these factors, it is clear that Donald Trump should drop out of the presidential race. He has demonstrated time and again that he is not a leader who prioritizes the well-being of his fellow citizens, but rather a self-serving and divisive figure who is more concerned with his own political agenda. The American people deserve better than this, and it is time for Trump to step aside and allow someone who is truly committed to the betterment of our country to take the reins.
