The latest updates for Samsung wearables hit the Galaxy Watch3 and Watch Active2.

Your excuses for a sedentary lifestyle quickly fade away. The weather is improving, the days are getting longer, and if you’re lucky, you’ll soon be energized and ready to hit the road and conquer the world. Many of us put a little extra effort into getting out and active, hoping to lose some of this pandemic weight (and maybe some), and there is no better tool to help you with this than a good smartwatch. Samsung has rolled out fresh updates for several of its latest models this week.

Yesterday Samsung started distributing firmware R840XXU1BUE3 for its Galaxy Watch3as well as R820XXU1DUE3 for Watch Active2… None of these updates are particularly serious, and both watches use the same version of Tizen 5.5.0.2.

What we’re really hearing about is a few small changes to iconography, both for the inactive warning icon and for the automatic detection of walking / running glyphs. And each of these models should receive regular stability improvements. But given that this is the total amount of changes, we will forgive you for not noticing that something has really changed.

Stay tuned for update notifications for your Galaxy Watch3 and Watch Active2, and we’ll keep an eye on any other updates coming to the rest of Samsung’s line of wearables.
