Samsung is finally rolling out eSIM support for Galaxy phones in the US - here are the models at the moment

While many devices in the US technically have eSIMs, only Apple’s iPhones and Google’s Pixel series allow users to connect to networks using digital cards included in their phones. Many of Samsung’s latest flagships also have built-in eSIMs, but without the support of American carriers, this feature was not used. Fortunately, this is finally changing as T-Mobile is the first carrier to add eSIM support to Samsung devices running on its network starting with the Galaxy Note20 series.

This may sound like a minor change, but for users who really wanted to make sharing cellular connections easier, it’s a godsend. This not only allows digital switching between networks, but also provides access to dual SIM phones for US holders. The update aims at both Note20 and Note20 Ultra on T-Mobile, and while there is currently no sign of similar support for the Galaxy S21, it can be assumed that it is not far behind.

In addition to activating the eSIM, this new software also includes some vague bug fixes and security improvements. After updating the phone, the eSIM card manager will appear in the OneUI settings menu to switch between networks.
