Samsung Galaxy Buds2 looks like the brainchild of Buds Pro and Buds +

Samsung makes some of the best truly wireless earbuds, and the Galaxy Buds Pro is proof of that. However, if you still haven’t dropped a pair of Benjamins on a steam, you can wait as the next model from the South Korean company just broke the lid so we can have a look at it earlier.

Samsung Galaxy Buds2 (SM-R177) was spotted in FCC filing (through All about Samsung) and they look like a cross between the Galaxy Buds + and the Buds Pro (as you can see above). While the side facing the ear bears a resemblance to the Buds + (note the two gold contacts), the outer shell is rounded like the Buds Pro.

The similarities don’t end there, the case is boxy too and you can safely expect it to have wireless charging support. Moreover, the documentation states that the Buds2 will use Bluetooth 5.2, but we’re not sure if this also means LE Audio that Android 12 will support.

This is not the first time we’ve heard of upcoming buds. Earlier this year, we spotted them in a disassembled APK of the Galaxy Wearable app. The code suggests they will be able to connect to multiple devices at the same time, which is new as only a select few earbuds can boast of this.

It is not yet known when the Buds2 will be announced, but the FCC certification hints that we won’t have to wait long. They could be showcased alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the new Galaxy Watch at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event.
