Snapdragon Galaxy S20 FE arrives in India to compete with OnePlus 9

Like most markets outside of North America, India has received the Exynos variant of the fantastic mid-range Samsung Galaxy S20 FE. This model just doesn’t keep up with its Snapdragon sibling in several ways, including 5G connectivity. Now Samsung is bringing the S20 FE 5G to the Indian market around the same time OnePlus is about to ditch its 9 Series flagships in a similar price point.

The Galaxy S20 FE with the Exynos 990 did not become as popular as the S10 Lite in India, most likely due to some known flaws in the Samsung chip. The company will hope that offering a Snapdragon 865-based model will help bring back some of the sales of a device that has been very popular in other markets. This new option has nothing to do with 5G as India has yet to jump onto the 5G bandwagon. But it still makes sense because Qualcomm processors enjoy the best reputation among Indian consumers.

In terms of their differences, the Snapdragon Galaxy S20 FE is expected to be better in energy efficiency and consistent performance than its Exynos counterpart. There could also be a price difference between the two, but we don’t have an official message on this yet. We should hear more from Samsung before the S20 FE 5G starts shipping on March 30th.
